Pegase & Icarus

This unique creation was made last spring during the first equestrian shows at the Théatre Antique d’Orange. It is the result of a meeting between the Gruss family and ‘Les Farfadais’. Horsemen and virtuoso artists celebrate together two big figures of the Greek mythology: Pegasus, the renown winged and untameable stallion and Icarus, son of the master craftsman Daedalus, who was given bird wings by his dad to escape from terrestrial traps. This blend of equestrian and aerial art is a reference-innovation that illustrates this symbolic performance that make of Earth and Sky its space of expression. On Earth and in the Air, we see 23 riders and acrobats, an orchestra of 10 musicians and 40 horses from the prestigious Alexis Gruss’ cavalry.
